Equal application of the law is paramount, therefore, I echo Speaker of the House John Boehner’s declaration: “It’s not who’s going to get fired, it’s who’s going to jail!”
With today’s serious government scandals being brought to light, there remains one that has eluded the national attention under the premise of protecting children.
It has recently been spotlighted again in the Hi-Desert Star’s May 15 article, “Lawmaker calls for audit of Child Services” and channel 11’s continued series of “System of Lies,” which aired May 15.
The latter reference documented a lawsuit against Orange County’s Child Protective Services, while more lawsuits continue to pile up.
It’s chilling to hear that when social workers are caught in lies and perjury, the punishment, according to Orange County’s director, is absolutely nothing! After attorney Shawn McMillan of San Diego won Deanna Fogherty-Hardwick’s case against Orange County CPS, the director refused to admit any wrongdoing. In reply to the Supreme Court’s decision on the matter, he stated, “That’s their opinion.” This response exemplifies an agency that has little or no accountability, which does not inspire public trust or confidence.
Hundreds of billions of our tax dollars are at work paying for:
1. A child’s “removal” (often unnecessary and unwarranted);
2. “Services” required to keep the child in foster care;
3. Group homes (up to $8,500 per month per child);
4. Contracted service providers for the parent(s) to earn the right to remain a parent(s);
5. Personnel positions (receptionists, caseworkers, supervisors, transporters, court clerks, transcribers, judges, etc.);
6. Adoption bonuses the department earns for going above the previous year’s quota;
7. Psychotropic drugs “needed” for children experiencing separation anxiety;
8. The department’s defense in lawsuits and the consequent settlements.
Assemblyman Tim Donnelly is having a rally at the statehouse June 5 to further his push for an audit of Sacramento and San Bernardino’s Child Protective Services offices, aka Department of Children’s Services, Children and Family Services, etc. (the agency keeps changing its name).
Pastor Joseph Campbell and I were invited to speak at this event, but due to financial restraints had to decline. You can hear our previous speech at http://www.dcrally2007.com. Please support Mr. Donnelly’s efforts to expose fraud, waste and abuse of authority by Children and Family Services (currently referred to as CFS) via email, phone or letters.
CPS has betrayed the trust of the American people for far too long. Silence is no longer an option. We must not succumb to fear of retaliation or shame. The future for us can be better if we stand together to bring sunlight to this agency that hides behind the cloak of secrecy while subverting basic fundamental due process protections and God-given unalienable rights with threats, duress and coercion.
Our society was founded on a system of checks and balances. However, there are two government agencies that have unchecked power: IRS and CPS. One destroys finances and one destroys families. It is imperative for the common good that both agencies be held accountable for the money they demand from us and the children they take from us.
Adoption websites and “fairs” resemble dark times when slaves were displayed and examined at auctions. Many of these children trapped in the system were never being abused or neglected. It’s time to clean house. This agency must be added to the current list of scandals for immediate “full transparency Congressional investigation(s) without restraints.”
Equal application of the law is paramount, therefore, I echo Speaker of the House John Boehner’s declaration: “It’s not who’s going to get fired, it’s who’s going to jail!”
